MARCH 25, 2008: EXCLUSIVE: ILYA CHECK IN WITH SBH.COM ON SEASON 2 & OFFICIAL DVD CAMPAIGN + NEW ROLE FOR BRANDON ROUTH IN AN ILYA SALKIND PRODUCTION

Ilya Salkind contacted SBH.com last night in regards to the Official Superboy Campaign. He commented on the campaign saying "it is great to see the fan support behind this movement to get the final three seasons out there on DVD." We here at SBH.com along with Ilya will bring more information on more ways the fans can help further the cause even more. Plus we hope to have the endorsement of cast members from the later seasons including Ilan Mitchell-Smith (Andy McAlister), Stacy Haiduk (Lana Lang), Sherman Howard (Lex Luthor) and Gerard Christopher (Clark Kent / Superboy).

Ilya talked about Brandon Routh and Superman Returns, saying he thought Brandon was impressive in the role as Superman and Clark Kent. He mentioned that he has just cast Brandon Routh in a new film entitled "Retribution," which is an old western  cowboy film. Brandon character in the film is a Clint Eastwood type Ilya compared Routh's role to.

There is even a mention of Kevin Kiner's Superboy score from the show...maybe we will see a soundtrack on the horizon if the petitioning for the later seasons works.

The campaign will start to focus on WB executives in the Home Video Department, we will soon bring you the information on who to contact to convince Warner Bros to release the last three seasons on DVD. Keep signing the petition and sending postcards to Warner Bros. Thank you for your support.

FEB. 7, 2008: EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: A Conversation with Ilya Salkind Part II

The second conversation with Mr. Ilya Salkind, we talked about the status of the further DVD releases of The Adventures of Superboy. Ilya stated "It is a matter of time that the rest of the series will hit DVD." He went on and talked about the sales of Season One in which he reaffirmed that "sales were relevantly on the good side according to the sales on Amazon.com back in June of 2006 it was among the top DVD sets." Another reason he stated that there maybe a problem with more releases is the on going current legal battle between the Time Warner, the owner of DC Comics, and the Siegel estate (Jerry Siegel). The suit was filed back on April 4, 2006 and the first season of Superboy was released in June 2006. "On July 27, 2007, the courts ruled in favor of Warner Bros' decision to appeal the previous ruling and dismissed some of the Siegel estate's claims about the Superboy character. The trial for the dispute over the Superman copyright is expected to begin on May 13, 2008, with the trial for the Superboy copyright dispute to begin some time afterwards (Wikipedia.org)." I mentioned to Ilya the statements made by (TVSHOWSONDVD.COM) in which the question was posed about that sales for Season One. Ilya response was "Season One was very successful and it would only be logical that Warner Bros will follow eventually in the future with the rest of the series." Ilya mentioned that a worldwide DVD release of Season One back in 2006 was something he was disappointed never happened because of it popularity in other terroritories around the globe. I asked Ilya about the ending of the series and if there were any future plans for more seasons of Superboy beyond that final fourth season. "Yes, sure there were more seasons planned a 5th and possibility 6th season of Superboy."

There you have it right from Creative and Executive Producer Ilya Salkind...."There will be more of The Adventures of Superboy DVD," contrary to reports from the owner of TVSHOWSONDVD.COM. In the hopes of convincing Warner Bros to release more Superboy DVDs, The Superboy Homepage in conjunction with other Superman related websites on the web, are planning an Official DVD Campaign for the Adventures of Superboy series. With Ilya Salkind & the cast of Superboy's endorsements, we plan on getting the support from fans all over the globe by helping us to send in downloadable flyers and postcards to the top heads and executives at Warner Bros Studios in the hopes of convincing them to release the rest of the series.

I would like to personally thank Ilya Salkind for the nice words he had to say about the Superboy Homepage and for taking the time out of his busy schedule to talk with the Superboy series and Superman. It was a real pleasure and will I hope we talk again in the near future.

Watch this space for the downloadable flyers and postcards with the information of where and whom to send these items to Warner Bros Studios in the coming days as we gather the information together.....THE CAMPAIGN IS ON TO BRING THE REST OF SUPERBOY TO DVD!!!
